International College student won Thailand’s International Culinary Cup 2019 prize
Miss Thitirat Tawnor, a third-year student in Hotel Management program, majoring in Restaurant Business, International College Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, won a silver medal in the 25th Thailand’s International Culinary Cup (TICC) 2019. The winner of TICC2019 was awarded the royal cup from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The competition category that our student won was Junior Chef in the category of world street food for chefs who were younger than 25 years old. 41 chefs competed in this category. The TICC2019 competition was the event organized by Thailand Chefs Association and UBM Asia who is the organizer of Food & Hotel Thailand 2019. Miss Tawnor received the prize on September 7, 2019. The event was held in Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre: BITEC, Bangkok.

Miss Tawnor said, “My culinary creation is ‘Kraprao Krob Kaidao Nam’ (meaning Thai pork with holy basil garnished with a crisp fried egg which is in water). My idea of cooking is dishing up a meal aligned to the street food competition category. I feel like this meal of the street food category is easy to find. It is able to feed and nourish yourself. The meal is sold everywhere. It has nutritional quality. I don’t need to use added fat to fry eggs but instead use water. Consequently, it is also healthy. Minced pork is used and seasoned. So, the meal is bursting with flavor as well. And importantly, I was provided with advice for this culinary competition by Ajarn Yupaporn Kithwang.”
In TICC2019 competition, the chefs competed in individual and team categories. There are 7 competition categories as follows: the Best of Thai Cuisine, the Best of Western Cuisine, the Best of Innovation Cuisine, the Best of Pastry Art, the Best of Culinary Team by 75, Fruit and Vegetable Carving, and Free Style Ice Carving.
