College of Allied Health Sciences Collaborates with Samut Songkhram Agricultural Council for Sustainable Conservation of GI-Certified "Kom" Lychee

Asst. Prof. Dr. Jatuporn Unprasertsuk from the Medical Secretary and Public Health Program, along with students from the College of Allied Health Sciences, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (Samut Songkhram Campus), joined Ms. Mananya Chuesailert, Head of the Samut Songkhram Provincial Agricultural Council, for a field study. This initiative is part of the "Potential Enhancement of 'Kom' Lychee Conservation in Samut Songkhram Province" project, aimed at sustaining its Geographical Indication (GI) brand. The project operates under the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG), funded by the 2026 National Budget.

The primary objectives of this field visit were to survey the cultivation areas, gather feedback from local farmers, and identify challenges to be reported to government agencies. The gathered insights will be used to determine strategic guidelines for improving export quality, creating new marketing channels, and increasing the income of lychee farmers for long-term sustainability.
